Battery Types Available for Custom Battery Packs
We offer a range of battery types for your custom battery pack to meet your application and usage needs.
We offer the following battery types:
- Lithium thionyl chloride batteries: These are non-rechargeable battery cells produced utilizing LiSOCl2 chemistry. Lithium thionyl chloride batteries offer a broad capacity range and come in either spiral wound or bobbin-type constructions. Due to the nature of this chemistry, they have a low discharge rate, high operating voltage, excellent service life, and reliability features.
- Sealed lead-acid batteries: Also called a valve-regulated lead-acid (VRLA) battery, sealed lead-acids are fully-enclosed rechargeable batteries with a pressure relief valve that automatically activates to allow gasses to escape when the internal pressure surpasses the unit’s safety limits. These batteries have a long life span and high capacity range and are low-cost and maintenance-free.
- Alkaline batteries: This non-toxic battery is produced through the chemical reaction between zinc metal and manganese oxide. Alkaline batteries are non-rechargeable, tolerant of extremely low temperatures, recyclable, and have minimal leakage risk.
- Lithium-ion batteries: Unlike LiSOCL2 cells, lithium-ion batteries are rechargeable. They are lightweight, maintenance-free, and have a higher capacity than equivalent lead-acid batteries.

- Cells: Multiple chemistries are available to meet both energy and power requirements.
- Electrical Connectors: Including busbars, solder tabs, wires, and other power distribution conductors are merged to create a pack to your specifications.
- Thermal Interface Materials (TIMs): Pastes, adhesives, and gap fillers are thermal interface materials used to mechanically join battery components.
- Battery Management System (BMS): This system protects and maintains cell balance by monitoring key metrics like voltages, currents, and temperatures.
- Housing: This rigid or semi-rigid enclosure protects the battery pack and assists with maintaining consistent temperature and electrical insulation.
- Communication System: This component allows communication between the battery pack and other electrical device components.
